Intro to Educational Tech Blog

       When Designing my website i tried to keep the same kind of theme and tried to keep my website as organized as possible. For example i tried to keep the same color scheme throughout my website. I also tried to format my website in a way that was easy to follow with few images to keep the website easy to read. I also tied to put important information in one place.          Ways i thought of using qr codes in a classroom would be to use them as a way for students to easily access study materials on their phones. One website i had in mind was quizlet and kahoot, which paired with a qr code would allow students easy on the go access to these resources.  This is my first ever experience with blogging. I had fun creating the blog, but I don't like how much work and dedication it would take to writing a serious blog and keep updating said blog. I learned that the blogging process is a lot harder than it seems. Finding topics to write about on a daily or weekly basis would become harder as time goes on. An interesting tool i found when teaching that could be used is Khan Academy. This tool is a website that provides multiple different instructors that go over both science and math problems. They provide detailed and helpful explanations for a wide variety of learning speeds. I used Khan academy in school growing up and found it really useful as side learning tool for class.     The standard I chose off of the CPALMS website was standard SC.8.HS.1.1 which in my own words would say is about how to use technology and the right type of technology to complete the task at hand. Based on my current skill set i do not believe i would be able to use this standard. The reason for this is that I still struggle with certain programs and websites, so if I had to identify the proper type of technology to use I would be able to. The problem is i would struggle to use that technology.     I chose 4th grade Mathematics for my grade level and subject area. Some useful tools I found were many different lesson plans that would be useful, as well as resource talking about how AI and Chatgtp and how they work.       My experience using word has been mixed while using it for school. While Microsoft Word is relatively easy to use and i grew up using it. I have found this year so far i enjoy using google docs better because i find it easier to use and the way that all of my documents are saved in one place makes using google docs, as well as slides way more convenient. I also like the ability to convert my files from google docs and slides to any format i may need for an assignment.      The ISTE standard that stood out the most to me was 2.4 Collaborators. The Idea of collaborating with other educators as well as the students was interesting. This was because I have always liked to interact with other people and working to help thers while also learning new ideas for my self sounds fun.       What I hope to learn in this class this year is how to create and use powerpoint properly and excel. I believe that learning how to use these properly will help later on in whatever job I hope to go into. With powerpoint i hope how to use it when presenting for business meetings or for promoting a idea later in a marketing sense. With excel i hope to be able to use it properly to make working with numbers a lot easier.     When it comes to prior experiences with technology I have very little. Ive only ever used powerpoint on rare occasions for school presentations or when reviewing notes. When it comes to excel i have practically none.
